Cleveland man crashes into storefront in suspected DUI case

It is not always the case that another driver is the victim in a drunk driving accident. For example, reckless drivers leave the roads at times, hitting homes, businesses and pedestrians.

A Cleveland man is in trouble again after steering his vehicle through a red light and hitting another car before eventually crashing into a small coffee shop. Fortunately, no one was injured in the bizarre series of events, but authorities fear that drunk driving played a part in the fiasco after investigators discovered that the alleged perpetrator has two prior convictions on his record for the crime.

Patrons of the coffee shop were enjoying their morning refreshments when a car came through the storefront window. The owners of the coffee shop estimate that the damage to the property is over $30,000, but they were relieved that no one was hurt in the crash.

While everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, repeated drunk driving violations cannot and should not be tolerated in this society, especially those that result in car accidents. Thankfully no one was hurt in this incident, but things could have easily ended up differently and someone could have been seriously injured or even killed.

If you find yourself the victim of a drunk driving accident, it is a good idea that you speak with a personal injury attorney. While a drunk driver may be subject to criminal charges, he or she may also be liable to victims for their damages. Obtaining compensation for such liability is not automatic and it requires action on the part of the victims or their families.
