Woman injured in head-on collision; man charged

According to law enforcement authorities with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a 68-year-old woman was seriously injured in a head-on accident, and a 23-year-old man is now facing criminal charges. Reportedly, the accident occurred on March 19 on State Route 83 and Ewing Road around 4:28 p.m.

Teens report many distracted driving behaviors

Ohio parents may be surprised to learn of the wide variety of distracting activities teenagers have reported engaging in while they are driving. While texting and driving remains the most problematic behavior, teens report doing many other things while they are behind the wheel, including changing clothing and shoes.

Man charged in fatal Ohio hit-and-run crash

Police say that they took a 41-year-old man into custody after a traffic stop in West Virginia. They believe that he was responsible for a fatal crash that took place at U.S. Route 35 at Township Road 213 in Jackson County at about 5:30 a.m. on March 12. According to authorities, the man's semi collided with a truck driven by a 21-year-old man after running a stop sign.

Motorcyclists 26 times more likely to die in an accident

Motorcyclists who are 18 years of age or older are not required to wear a safety helmet in Ohio, but they may be wise to do so considering the sobering fatality statistics among riders. While the number of motorcycle riders who died on the roads fell from 4,986 in 2012 to 4,668 in 2013, riders are still 26 times more likely than passenger vehicle occupants to be killed in an accident per vehicle mile driven, according to NHTSA.

Charges may be filed in Ohio single-car crash that killed 2

Police in Ohio may press charges against an 18-year-old woman in connection with a Feb. 26 accident that resulted in the deaths of two people. Investigators said that they believed that speed played a role in the single-car accident.
